What makes Tallow & Ember different?

Tallow & Ember combines nutrient-rich, thoughtfully sourced ingredients with carefully selected botanical oils and skincare actives. Our formulas are intentionally created to nourish, hydrate, and support healthy, radiant-looking skin and hair without unnecessary fillers.

 

Why do you use tallow in skincare?

 

Tallow is naturally rich in fatty acids and lipids that help nourish, soften, and moisturize the skin. We use high-quality grass-fed, grass-finished tallow in our tallow-based products.

 

Are all Tallow & Ember products made with tallow?

 

No. Our collection includes both tallow-based and non-tallow formulas. Each product page includes a complete ingredient list so you know exactly what's in your product.

 

Will tallow clog my pores?

 

Everyone's skin is different. Our formulas are thoughtfully balanced with complementary ingredients, but any skincare ingredient can affect individuals differently. If you're acne-prone or sensitive, we recommend patch testing first.

 

Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?

 

Many of our formulas contain gentle, skin-supportive ingredients, but sensitivities and allergies vary from person to person. Always review the complete ingredient list and patch test a new product before full use.

 

In what order should I use my skincare?

 

A simple routine is: Cleanse → Water-Based Serum → Targeted Serum/Eye Product → Facial Oil → Moisturizer. During the day, finish with sunscreen.

 

What's the difference between a serum and facial oil?

 

Serums are generally lightweight and designed to deliver hydrating or targeted ingredients to the skin. Facial oils nourish and soften the skin while helping seal in moisture. They can be used separately or layered together.

 

How much product should I use?

 

A little goes a long way. Start with a small amount and add more if needed. For concentrated facial oils and serums, a few drops are generally enough.

 

Can I use several Tallow & Ember products together?

 

Yes. Many of our products are designed to complement one another. If you're introducing several new products, we recommend adding them one at a time so you can see how your skin responds.

 

Why does my product look, smell, or feel slightly different from my last one?

 

Because many of our formulas contain naturally derived ingredients, botanical oils, and tallow, slight variations in color, scent, or texture can occur from batch to batch. These natural variations are completely normal.

 

How should I store my products?

 

Keep products tightly closed and store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Follow any additional storage instructions provided with the individual product.

 

How long do Tallow & Ember products last?

 

For the best quality, follow the period-after-opening symbol and storage instructions on the packaging. Avoid introducing water or contaminants into products and use clean, dry hands when using products packaged in jars.

 

Do you test your products on animals?

 

No. Tallow & Ember does not conduct animal testing on our products, or buy from those that do.

 

Can I use Tallow & Ember products while pregnant or breastfeeding?

 

Because ingredient recommendations can vary during pregnancy and breastfeeding, we recommend reviewing the complete ingredient list with your healthcare provider before using a product if you have any concerns.

 

Do your products treat acne, eczema, hair loss, or other medical conditions?

 

Tallow & Ember products are cosmetic products designed to nourish, moisturize, and support the appearance and feel of healthy skin and hair. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

 

What if I have a reaction to a product?
